Cullivoe Community Garden

The Cullivoe Community Garden, located at the Cullivoe Primary School is open year round. The Community Garden has a wonderful playpark, mud kitchen, football pitch, sensory garden and picnic area.

Shetland Gallery

The Shetland Gallery is located in Sellafirth, it is the northernmost art gallery in Britain. They exhibit the best of Shetland’s contemporary art and high-end craft. Work by some of Shetland’s most well-known artists is exhibited in an inspiring and constantly changing group show.

Gloup Disaster Memorial

The memorial in Gloup pays tribute to the 58 men and boys who lost their lives due to a summer storm in 1881.

Yell for Cancer Support Charity Shop

The Yell for Cancer Support Charity Shop is open Thursday and Saturday 1-5pm selling a wide variety of clothing, homewares, games, books etc in order to generate funds for local and national cancer charities.

Cullivoe Shop

A well provisioned general store selling groceries, gas, coal, homewares, gardening and hardware supplies.

Wildlife

North Yell’s rolling peat moorlands are grazed by native sheep and the shorelines provide homes for otters and other wildlife. Breeding seabirds including puffins and gannets return to the cliffs around the island each year, while seals, porpoises and sometimes even whales can be seen swimming offshore.

North Yell is home to miles of unspoilt coastline and fabulous scenery. Including a circular route starting from our most beautiful beach, Breckon.
