Funding from The National Lottery Community Fund and North Yell Development Council (NYDC) provided a £400 grant to all permanent residences in North Yell. The money could be applied towards the costs of electricity, heating oil, prepaid key meters, gas or coal. Funds from the grant scheme came directly from the Wind Turbines and provided a direct support and benefit to the community.
